for the 11th annual 5K Run / 2-Mile Walk!

Pound the Pavement hosts a 5k run/ 2-mile walk annually on the Saturday of Columbus Day Weekend. The event is presented by the Neptune Township Committee and the Monmouth County Board of Commissioners and supports the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Research.

The next run/walk is Saturday, September 28, 2024! 

Join us bright and early for an amazing run through Neptune City that begins and ends at the Headliner Night Club on Route 35. After the run, hang out with fellow participants for food and drinks. Participate in the gift auction with great prizes generously donated by our sponsors and learn more about Pancreatic Cancer treatments, warning signs, and how the Lustgarten Foundation is using your donations to relentlessly make progress and improve outcomes for patients.

The Organization

Pound The Pavement is a 501(c)3 nonprofit whose mission is to raise awareness of and funds for pancreatic cancer research. Funds raised through Pound The Pavement are donated to the national Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research.

The Event

Our annual 5K Run and 2 Mile Walk starts and ends at the Headliner on Rt. 35 on Saturday, September 28, 2024. Sign up early and team up with family and friends and complete the road course through Neptune City, NJ. After the race stay for some food, drinks, speakers and a gift auction

Why we Pound the Pavement

Pancreatic cancer has the highest mortality rate of all major cancers. It is currently the third leading cause of cancer-related death in the United States. In 2023, an estimated 64,050 Americans will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in the U.S., and more than 50,550 will die from the disease, according to the American Cancer Society.

 

To date, Pound the Pavement has raised over $400,000
for pancreatic cancer research!
