Pound the Pavement & the Lustgarten Foundation

Pancreatic cancer has the highest mortality rate of all major cancers. It is currently the third leading cause of cancer-related death in the United States. In 2023, an estimated 64,050 Americans will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in the U.S., and more than 50,550 will die from the disease, according to the American Cancer Society.

Founded in 2014, Pound the Pavement was established to raise awareness of and funds for pancreatic cancer research. Annually, we host a 5k run/ 2-mile walk in the Fall.

The event is presented by the Neptune Township Committee and the Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners.

To date, Pound The Pavement has raised well over $400,000 for the Lustgarten Foundation through generous donations and event registration fees.

The Lustgarten Foundation is the largest private funder of pancreatic cancer research. They are relentlessly focussed on improving patient outcomes and are making progress every day. Thanks to separate funding to support administration expenses, 100% of every donation goes directly to research.
